An outreach to women formerly incarcerated

The old life is gone.
A new life has begun.

For 20 years, SISTER Ministries has walked with women coming home from incarceration — one meeting, one sister, one new beginning at a time.

Chapter One — Connect

It starts underground.

A seed doesn't look like much. Neither does a first Tuesday night — a woman in a doorway, not sure she belongs. But something goes down before anything comes up: a saved seat, a Bible open on the table, sisters who have been where she is. Roots.

Chapter Two — Grow

Then she reaches.

Week by week the trunk thickens and the branches stretch out — toward work, toward family, toward a faith that holds. Mentorship. Accountability. The slow, brave work of rebuilding, until a new life stops feeling borrowed and starts feeling like hers.

Chapter Three — Flourish

And then she blooms.

Every heart on this tree is a woman who walked in as her past and walked out as a new person. Then she turns around and saves a seat for the next sister. That is how one tree becomes a grove.

In her words

“I walked in as my past.I walk out as a new person.”

Our name is a promise

SISTER is more than a name — it’s how we walk.

Six letters that describe both what we do and how we do it: walking in step with Jesus, and in step with each other, until restoration isn’t a hope — it’s a testimony.

Your first visit

Your first visit is the hardest step. So we made it simple.

  1. Come as you are

No sign-up, no referral, no dress code. If you can get to the room on a Tuesday night, you belong in it.

  2. Open the Word, together

Every meeting is a Bible study and prayer — and fellowship with women who share your experience. You will not have to explain yourself here.

  3. Keep coming back

A safe, nurturing space focused on healing and growth. Same room, same night, every week — new life is built one Tuesday at a time.

Give

Help a sister flourish.

Your gift keeps the room open and the coffee warm — week after week, year after year. It funds the meeting, the mentorship, and the practical first steps of a woman’s new life: a ride, a résumé, a fresh start that doesn’t have to be earned alone.
